The Role:

As a Data Administrator you will:

  • Database Management: Administer and maintain database systems, ensuring data integrity, performance, and security.
  • Data Migration: Plan and execute data migration projects, ensuring smooth transitions with minimal disruption to operations.
  • Data Security: Implement robust security protocols to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
  • Data Backup & Recovery: Develop and manage backup and recovery plans to safeguard data against loss or corruption.
  • Performance Tuning: Monitor database performance and conduct tuning to optimize efficiency and speed.
  • User Support: Provide support and guidance to users regarding data access and management, resolving any issues that arise.
  • Data Integration: Collaborate with IT and business teams to integrate new data sources and support data warehousing initiatives.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of database configurations, processes, and policies to ensure clarity and consistency.
  • Compliance: Ensure that all data management practices comply with relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Automation: Develop scripts and tools to automate repetitive tasks and improve data management workflows.
What You Bring to the Table:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in data administration or a similar role, with a strong background in database management.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with database management systems (DBMS) such as MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL.
  • Knowledge of Scripting: Experience with scripting languages like SQL, Python, or PowerShell for database automation.
  • Understanding of Data Models: Solid understanding of data models, structures, and database schema design.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent analytical skills to diagnose and address database issues effectively.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in managing and maintaining data.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated to manage individual tasks.
