The Testing Proctor assists with the administration of large-scale, nationally standardized testing programs and/or classroom tests that may require special arrangements. This position plays a critical role in ensuring a secure, fair, and smooth testing experience for all candidates.
This project-based role provides an excellent opportunity for retirees or professionals seeking supplemental income. The assignment allows participants to contribute their expertise in a structured, short-term capacity.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintain inventory and logs of secure, highly confidential testing materials
- Count and organize test materials; place tests in numerical order
- Distribute and collect answer sheets and test booklets
- Verify candidate identification and assign appropriate seating
- Monitor for and report breaches of test security
- Clarify test instructions when appropriate, without compromising test integrity
- Collect and account for all test materials at the end of each session
- Assist in ensuring testing procedures comply with standardized guidelines
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- High attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to remain alert, professional, and impartial throughout testing sessions
- Familiarity with standardized testing procedures is a plus
- Ability to handle confidential materials with discretion
Minimum Qualifications:
- Completion of at least one semester of standardized test administration
- OR an equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties
- Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check (clean background required)
- Preferred: Active or retired teachers
- Preferred: Recent proctoring experience
- Must be available to work the entire duration of the project
